Aptalon™ Reactive Polyamides
Aptalon™ Reactive Polyamide Technology is a patented Lubrizol technology that can be used now to formulate high performance solvent-based coatings, adhesives, and a potentially limitless range of other applications. This reactive novel technology with high renewable content is poised to impart high performance capabilities to a diverse range of applications:
- Adhesion to polar surfaces
- High temperature resistance
- Excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance
- Robust hardness, abrasion and impact resistance
Lubrizol can engineer various functional end groups, such as hydroxyl, amine, carboxyl, and vinyl terminations. Lubrizol can provide customized molecular weights, control hardness, and build functionalities of 2, 3 or more. The potential applications for this exciting new polyol technology are only limited by the imagination.

Aptalon™ Polyamide Polyurethane Dispersions
With capabilities beyond traditional polyurethane dispersions, Lubrizol has developed unique polyurethane technology based on patented polyamide polyols. This revolutionary chemistry is able to solve many of today’s most demanding coating challenges. Aptalon™ Polyamide Polyurethane Dispersion technology delivers next-level performance capabilities (chemical, abrasion and ageing resistance) plus high levels of aesthetic appeal. The water-borne chemistry is able to match solvent-borne performance while adding simplicity with 1K, self-crosslinking systems and the added sustainability of high bio-based carbon content.
For demanding applications, Aptalon Polyamide PUDs can offer functional polymers to enable two component water-based formulations to react with a wide variety of crosslinkers. With a high percentage of renewable material, sustainability and performance create a robust synergist thanks to this novel technology.
