Focus: As an innovation scientist, Fan is responsible for developing technologies and implementing new analytical methods to provide innovative solutions to product development challenges in skin care. In addition to research and development of global pipeline projects, as a technology ambassador, she promotes new technologies and developments into APAC and India regional teams and promotes geographic business expansion. She also takes on the role of project coordinator, managing all aspects of the botanical active ingredients pipeline projects.
Recent accomplishments: Fan is a technical lead specializing in botanical active ingredients and analytical method development to promote global projects initiation & launch. She has built up a library of botanical active ingredients not only for skin care, but also for nasal care and oral care.
Recently she successfully developed and validated a microplate spectrophotometer method to quantify total polyphenols and total flavonoids in active ingredients. This method dramatically reduced bench time, hazardous chemicals and reagents compared to previous tedious analysis methods in lab. In addition to being applied to R&D and QC to promote the development of pipeline projects and production, this method also facilitates the optimization and development of the PhenobioTM technology extractor in manufacturing.
