Advancing Environmental Sustainability
Lubrizol Engineered Polymers has been a member of the Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) led by Nova Institute for more than 25 years.
Bio TPU™ is our bio-based, renewable-sourced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) portfolio which can be used in adhesives, and processed by injection molding, extrusion and co-extrusion. Bio TPU was invented in 2007 by Merquinsa which was later acquired by Lubrizol, and is commercialized as ESTANE® and Pearlbond™ ECO. The ESTANE ECO portfolio has been expanded and our most recent developments include a color stable grade. ESTANE ECO improves the performance of petroleum-based grades.
